Hi how are you doing? I just bought a Pearson 35 haul #35. I have a question it's not about the prop. I need help please. Below my rutter packing nut there are 4 bolts that bolt to a plate attached to the haul. I found the bolts a little bit loose. I tightened them up a little and I am still getting seapeage of water. The sealant that is between it is old and cracked. Water is not coming out of the nuts only the bolt area. How can repair this permantly? Thanks William

Do nothing while the boat is in the water. When she's on the hard, look to pull the bolts out and re-bed. At that time i would check out the whole assembly including the packing in the gland. Larry

Has anyone tried a feathering prop, like Maxprop, Jprop or Variprop? I'm repowering my 69 from an A4 to a Beta 25. The issue with me is room for the longer hub length. Quite a bit of rudder would have to be cut away. Going to a 3 blade 16" from a 2 blade 12" will mean a loss of sailing performance if not for the feathering prop option, if possible. Larry

I talked to the MaxProp guys at the Annapolis boat show, and they said it will fit w/o rudder mods. The hub on the 3 blade isn't as long as the 2 blade version.

Prop aperture is 17.5 inches, so 16.5 is probably about it unless you're willing to bet the cutlass will never wiggle and vibration won't happen, ever.
