Does anyone know where a new centerboard drum can be had. In re-hab of my boat, mine was lost! Desperately needed!

These are the same used on my Pearson 39. I have since found out that these are identical to those used on O'day Mariners -- yes the 19 footers. Kinda scary, but I found a replacement for mine at a consignment shop. It was marked as a centerboard winch for a Mariner.
The problem I have with these is that the drum size is too small for 3/16" or even 1/8" wire. Needs to be a minimum of 2.5 inches in diameter for 3/16 wire or you will get meat hooks.
I'm interested in any mods anyone has done with these...
