Has anyone installed main sail furling for the Pearson35 or done any research with respect thereto? I am particularly interested in the possibility of 'in boom' furling but would also like anyone's experience with or knowledge of any kind of main furling.

When I bought my P35 in Maine eight years ago, the previous owner had a HYDE Streamstay already installed behind the mast. It was retrofitted just aft of the mainsail track in the mast. It allows me to singlehand quite easily. The drum at the bottom is where the reefing line sits, while the furling line is attached to the mainsail. When furling the mainsail the reefing line is let out and cleated. When the wind picks up I either take her into the wind or ease out the mainsheet a bit and reef. Works very easily. You'll have to have a sailmaker sew in a track so you can haul the main up and down. I believe this company still exists, go online under Streamstay. Good luck.
