I ran into shallows while tacking and the center board broke in half about 2 feet from the pin. I would like to get a used one or information on how to/ where to get a new one. I can be contacted at dcicirelli@cfl.rr.com.
Thanks, Dave

Dave - D & R Marine has replacement center boards - www.drmarine.com/products.asp?cat=376I read somewhere on this board that D & R purchased a lot of the Pearson hardware in the bankruptcy auction but I can't find the information now. Did you save the the loose half of the board? Your best bet might be a repair. Michael

My name is Glenn Henderson. I have been a yacht designer (racing and cruising) since 1983. I have designed all the Hunter Marine sailboats since 2000. I started the SR Sailboats company and sold it to C&C Yachts in 1993. I deigned those boats as well (SR 21>, SR 27>, SR 25>, SR33>.
I have a Pearson 35 down here in Costa Rica (www.joyridesailing.com) . I recently hauled out and discovered my centerboard was cracked on one side and ready to break. I removed the board and discovered that the board is basically a blob. Not to disrespect the work of Bill Shaw, (I think the Pearson 35 is a gold nugget) but the standards for foil shapes have drastically increased. I am going to design and build a new high performance centerboard for my boat. I am also going to try an idea I have for a centerboard gasket.
If any of you have an interest in obtaining a functional, high performance and effective CB, contact me. glenn@glennhenderson.net. The cost of the plans is $200.00. I will send an e-drawing. The foil template can be printed on a regular printer and joined together to make a full scale template.
The good thing about a CB design is that is has one function, to provide lift upwind. I do not have to compromise the design with a low drag/low lift foil section for downwind. It will be a good CB.
Google "Glenn Henderson" and check out my race boat designs. I promise a great CB!
Also, I used Dyneema for the centerboard cable and it works great.
Pura Vida,
Glenn Henderson
