Hello, Hope you're all well. I recently bought a 78' Pearson 35 & the centerboard cable is missing as well as two sections of the cable conduit/pipe. One pipe section that's missing is the whole section from the 2nd sheave to the winch where the coupling had split down one side. The other section is a few inches where the pipe attaches to the 1st sheave (see attachment). 1) I bought 50' of 1/8" L316 7x19 wire rope & am practicing eye splicing.
2) I removed the split coupling from the 2nd sheave & bought a new brass one & 48" of 3/8" schedule 40 red brass pipe (missing section is 34.5" long).
What I'm currently stumped on is how the new pipe should connect between the old one & the 1st sheave.
Since both sheave's have threads where the pipe connects, the only thing I can think of is threading a few inches of pipe, attaching it to the existing broken pipe & sweating the joint. Is there a better way? like where it's all threaded w/no brazing?
Thank you for reading.

Would use Nicopress sleeves rather than splicing. There is a limited amount of space for the splice in the wire in the well. I used Dyneema synthetic and the bury of the tail doesn’t allow complete retraction of board. Close but still a few inches of board exposed. Also Nicopress sleeves are way quicker and EASY.
