Good luck with her! I saw your posts on Sailnet. You do have a lot of work to do. I'm sure it will be worthwhile once you get her back in the water.

Thanks for the ebay listing. This might work. What was the original mast height. I thought it was 39'4". Is this correct? Boom sounds short on this one. May not be able to use my sails. Rigging wire probably would not be usable either. Price is not bad but not a steal either.

I thought the mast was 40.7 feet. That's the I measurement which I thought was the height of the mast. See there is another place where the dimension is 39'4". One of these days will have to go up and measure the actual length.
The mast price is okay if it's in decent condition especially if the roller furling works. You get a usable headsail and might be able to sell the other hardware that you can't use. If those genoa blocks are the Schaeffer variety, I've sold them for $75 each.. Other problem is it's in Florida. Masts are expensive to ship if you aren't in the area to pick it up or want to power the boat there and pick it up.
I trashed the stock boom and bought a new main and boom from Mack Sails. Price was quite good and the internal line slab reefing boom has been the best addition I made to the boat.
I'm still thinking about putting a taller stick on the boat for better light air performance. Would like to add 3'-5' if it wouldn't affect the ultimate stability. The boat needs more horsepower in really light conditions. I hate to turn on the engine and want to be able to sail, it at all possible. The boat is reasonably stiff with the stock mast but the mast so seems that it would stand up to more stick. With the new boom and all lines lead back to the thingypit, reefing is painless and super easy so not worried about that.

I guess is you could have anything you wanted how would you set up the rig on a P35 for offshore cruising. If I have to buy a new mast maybe a taller mast is in order. Maybe a cutter rig and bow sprint. I am a ways off from even thinking about the rigging but it helps to way the pros and cons of each now then be stuck with the wrong rig latter.

How I ran the mainsail reefing lines and halyard to the cabin top is in the Projects section 'Lines Run Aft.' There is a P35 on th owners list that has a bowsprit. They'd just bought the boat when I emailed them so didn't have much experience with the sailing characteristics of the boat. A sprit would be the logical way to add sail area to shoal draft boat like the P35. More sail area with minimal additional healing moment. It's also a lot cheaper than buying a new mast.
I've been looking for a 43'-45' mast for two years and have only found one. Unfortuately, the guy decided to repair the boat instead of scrapping it and ended up not selling the the stick. Have come across a number in the 40' size so expect you shouldn't have to wait too long for a stock length stick.

Wow old number 3. Do you have any pics. Where are you located?
My restoration is going painfully slow. I only have nights and weekends to work on it and its not enough. Right now I am concentrating on getting all the bottom paint off.
