I have owned Seaquel hull 407 four about eight years and never had a problem with water in my centerboard well. Last month my boat yard in Oriental painted my bottom and replaced the CB cable. When the boat was relaunched water started to drip from both CB pin caps in the CB well. The yard hauled the boat and removed the end caps cleaned ,installed FG flat washers around pin using 3m 520. No sign of leaks. I just checked the boat after being away four three weeks and found four inches of water above the floor boards. Boat pumped and hauled. Any thoughts on what the problem could be would be great'ly appreciated

There is no reason to mess with the center board pin to replace the center board cable. Did the yard do something to the pin on the first haul out. The pin housing looks to be just a piece of bronze pipe fiberglassed into the keel with pipe threaded end caps. If the yard tried to remove the end caps without holding the pipe in position with a wrench on the other side, they could have broken the fiberglass bond to the pipe.
You say the yard resealed the pin housing with 5200 and that solved the leak issues. Are you sure the new leak is again coming from the pin housing pipe??

I replaced my centerboard cable last November during a haul out and did not remove the pipe capes on the pin. We had a very hard time as the old cable apparently frayed and broke while trying to pull a new one through. So we had to pull pull the pipe with the cable apart all the way back to the block where it turns 90 deg to go through the hull. That was the only way we were able to feed the new cable through. After breaking the pipe unions and finding replacements (not easy), putting it back together and in the water, it leaked a little at the unions. Prayed a little, then tightened it with big wrenches and it finally stopped. Check around the pipe unions for leaks.

Just a follow up on my center board leak problem that I posted on November 8. The yard hauled Seaquel and checked the centerboard pin. they found a small crack in the center board well located under the pin.in addition the supports for the pin which was held by beddeng compound was lose. Crack was repaired, new supports was fabricated and reglassed to well and new pin and endcaps installed. So far dry well. The yard charged about $2200 for the repair .
