Hi All,
I am getting ready to re-paint the bottom with ablative paint. I have read on other forums that the centerboard and centerboard trunk may fare better with hard paint rather than ablative paint. For those of you who have used ablative paint, did you also use ablative paint inside the centerboard trunk and on the centerboard, or did you paint those areas with hard epoxy type paint? Or did you do something else entirely?
Thanks!

Used Interlux Micron Extra for the entire bottom, centerboard and trunk. Boat was in Alameda for 2 years and Kona for the past 4 years. There was no significant growth on the board or trunk when hauled on 2012 none now after two more years. Could see where a hard paint would stand up better to the rubbing of a deployed board, however.

Thanks for the input Roverhi. I ended up using Pettit Ultima SR60 everywhere... will see how it holds up in the trunk.

Thanks for the input Roverhi. I ended up using Pettit Ultima SR60 everywhere... will see how it holds up in the trunk. FWIW- just had mine pulled due to leak in starboard well of pin and re glassed to address. The centerboard and well had lost nearly all the ablative the PO had put on her who knows how long ago and there wasn't much in the way of growth in there. Maybe the fact that the board wiggles around even when up keeps much from sticking.
