Hi all,
I looked at a P35 yesterday and really liked it except the boom was so low there is no way to put up a dodger/bimini. Are P35 owners living with that or raising the boom?
Also, are the decks solid?
Thanks

I have a dodger, but no bimini with the original 1968 boom. Sail in Maine, so no real need for one. Decks are typical for a balsa cored deck. Depends on maintenance, routine rebedding of hardware and other stuff. Good chance you may have some soft spots that you'll need to address at some point, but if you or the PO don't defer too long, easily dealt with.

The boom is low on the P35 but not so low that you can't have a dodger or Bimini. The dodger on mine is too tall for my taste but I've never had head room issues. My older boat has a sliding goose neck for mainsail luff tension. Super easy to pin the goose neck at the top of the track for added head room and shorten the main hoist. Use s Cunningham for luff tension

I pined my goose neck at the top of the track to make room for a Bimini. I am 6' 3" and have plenty of headroom under my Bimini. Invictus is a 1971 hull 191. In Florida a Bimini is a must have.
