Redo the non skid. Painted the flatwork on the deck a few years back but have been living with the old non skid and a ton of filled in pukas from old hardware. Then on to getting the boat ready for the sail to Alaska next summer.

Did you ever do your compression post step?

I've decided to do my standing rigging, my chainplates, lifelines, finally pay someone to get rid of my remaining electrical gremlins. Going to do the compression step with some g10 based on our conversation. I've started a new table and got the wood for a pit lattice. Last season I did the nonskid.

I just returned from three weeks cruising Southwest Florida. Came back with a list of to-do's prior to our planned Bahamas trip nest spring. The first one is a soft spot on the for-deck and around the port mid-ship stanchion. Then Ill have to paint the deck. KiwiGrip nonskid paint has been recommended mostly because it will hide any issues with deck repair. Has anyone had any experiences with Kiwi? My understanding is that Pearson used balsa core decks. Does anyone have any suggestions for correcting the soft spots?

Grind out the core until you get dry core around the soft spot, reglass that area, reinforce the stanchion with a backing plate, paint. I used Interlux non-skid and am happy with it. Hard to keep clean is one complaint.

I cut out the top skin of the fore-deck. I removed the balsa core and replacing the core with NIDA-CORE STRUCTURAL HONEYCOMB panel. I will be re-glassing the top. I am reinforcing the area so I can install an electric windlass. I will post some photos as I get further along.

Anyone have a length measure on the sheeting t track? Not near my boat and trying to calculate how much rope I need for some new adjustable rail cars.
